Anahi Arteaga

Biography
My name is Anahi Arteaga and I have been with Carolina Prep since October 2023, so just a few months. I got my education degree at USC Upstate in May 2023 and I have gotten 2 years of experience through my college career. My favorite thing about working with kids is being able to teach and see them grow. I’m not married and have no kids. Fun facts: I’m an only child and my favorite sport is basketball. Lastly, I have enjoyed the time I have gotten here and can’t wait to see what’s next for me here.

My name is Alexis Coleman, and I’m the 4th grade teacher here, and I also teach science and social studies to the 2nd graders! I grew up in the Clemson area where I went to D.W. Daniel High School, and then went to college at Southern Wesleyan University where I graduated with a bachelors in Elementary Education. I’ve worked for many elementary schools in the after-school care departments. This is my first year teaching full-time, and I’m excited to see how this year goes!

Jazzlynn Romero works as the Front Desk Administrator she will help answer and direct your questions to facilitate smooth communication between parents and the school. She was born and raised in San Jose, CA where she also attended San Jose State University and received her Bachelors in Social Work. She moved to South Carolina in 2021. She is a mom of 2 and 1 furbaby. She enjoys working out, shopping, and spending quality time with her family.

Ms. Humera is the Assistant Director of our school. She was born and raised in New York. She moved to South Carolina in 2019. She joined our Carolina Prep family in July of 2023. Hi my name is Zoeyann Smith!
I am the prep cook for the school otherwise known as Chef Zoey! I was born and raised in Naples FL, and just recently moved here to SC about two years ago. I’ve been in food service for almost 10 years and worked in management for 3 before starting here. I live with my boyfriend of 4 years and we have a 2 year old Aussie shepherd named casey who is my whole world! I’m incredibly passionate about health, working out, cooking, and training my pup! Looking forward to providing nutrition, love and care to your child’s food and life!

Mrs. Ann is very happy to be at CIPS. She does a variety of duties. Office assistant, classroom assistant, bus driver, teacher/classroom observer. But her favorite thing to do is interact with the students! She taught in Heidelberg Germany, in a Developmental Delayed classroom for 11 years. Then after moving to SC she taught K-4 for SHARE Headstart for 28 years. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been married for 25 years. They have a son and daughter, with 5 grandchildren, 4 girls and 1 boy. Then to complete their family they have a Pitbull rescue dog!

My name is Chris Huff and I have been with Carolina Prep since June of 2023- most of my teaching experience has been with ages 4-High School. I have been in leadership positions on and off for over 18 years. I have oversaw multiple childcare sites at one time and oversaw as little as two at one time. I am a married father of 5 myself. 3 girls and 2 boys. My favorite thing about working with children is shaping the future. You never know if you’re helping mold the next president, the next CEO, or someone who will change the world in their field. I am excited to be a part of Carolina Prep and being a part of an amazing family.

Miss. Courtney is one of our floater teachers here at Carolina Prep. She has 4 years experience in childcare and 2 years experience in in-home/date night care. She enjoys working with our preschool ages (infant-5years) and helping the children grow and meet developmental milestones. She really enjoys singing, reading, and playing with the littles. When she’s not at work she loves relaxing at home with her dog lilly or going downtown for walks. A unique fact about her is that she was born with cleft lip and palate so she has a heart for others with special needs. She enjoys being able to see everyone in the school and floating around and helping when needed!

Mrs. Kathy is from NH and have lived in Greenville for 18 years. She is married to my husband Mike and have three children and one Grandson. She’s been with Carolina Prep for fourteen years and has taught in Infant 2, toddlers, and pre-preppers. Her role is housekeeper but she likes to think I do a little of everything here and there! Helping teachers, keeping our school clean and landscaping where ever she can. On the weekends she likes to spend time with her family, shopping with her girls and date nights with her husband! When she has time she enjoys reading and baking! She’s glad to be continuing her path here, and keep spreading positivity at Carolina Prep.

Mrs. White works in our Primary School and is the kindergarten teacher. She graduated from USC Upstate with a B.A. in Education and holds her certification in Early Childhood Development by the South Carolina State Board of Education. While completing her degree, Misty volunteered in Greenville County classrooms, as well as led weekly classroom reading programs. She has worked in kindergarten classrooms at both Brushy Creek Elementary and Mountain View Elementary schools. Mrs. White was also an Elementary School Age Children’s Director at a local church, where her responsibilities included, but were not limited to curriculum development, teaching, and scheduling. Misty has a passion for helping children learn and grow, and she has been a part of the Carolina Prep team since January 2011.

She am 26 years old and has a 5 year old daughter & has had a love & passion for kids since a young age. She always knew she wanted to work with children in some type of way. Mrs. Sharpless works with the 4-year-olds in our Pre-K classroom. She grew up in Sumter, South Carolina and graduated from Laurence Manning Academy. She received a BA degree in Elementary Education from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. Mrs. Sharpless has taught pre-school for 17 years and loves working with her Pre-K group. A fun fact about Hope is that she grew up on a farm in Ohio. Her family moved down here 10 years ago, and now she lives in Easley with her husband, their son, 3 dogs, 4 cats, and some chickens!
